It should be noted that this type of snore surgery is not recommended for treating sleep apnea. The process involves the use of topical anesthetic spray and the injection of roughly 3 cc of Sotradecol, introduced through the oral route into the soft part of the palate.

Preliminary researches have suggested that injection snoroplasty is safe and has a higher rate of success. It is also less painful than other surgeries. The main drawback of injection snoroplasty is that it treats only uvula tissues.

4 Tongue suspension procedure: It is also called Respose system and is relatively less invasive. It relaxes the base of the tongue during sleep. This in turn prevents it from falling backward and blocking the airway. The FDA approved this form of surgery in 1998. It is done as an outpatient process under total anaesthesia. This procedure takes 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

Generally, surgery to stop snoring is the most effective snoring solution in patients suffering from nasal obstruction. The results of surgery mainly depend on the skills of the surgeon and between the anatomy of a specific patient's airway and the type of procedure performed.
